Our Story
Hitchmough Kinnear is a long established Chartered Accountancy Practice which was originally founded by Mr. Ernest Hitchmough in 1895. Since that time, it has provided uninterrupted Audit, Accountancy, Taxation, Company Secretarial and Insolvency services to a wide variety of Clients in the Munster Region
Following our acquisition of a similar sized Chartered Accountancy practice, some years ago, Hitchmough Kinnear has become a much larger practice with a broader client base that offers a full range of services to both our domestic and International clients.
As a medium sized practice, Hitchmough Kinnear offers a personal service with a high level of contact between our senior personnel Aidan Heffernan, Patrick Hitchmough, Helen O’Neill and our clients. Hitchmough Kinnear are members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and the Irish Society of Insolvency Practitioners.

Our Team
Aidan Heffernan
B.Comm, FCA, Licensed Insolvency Practitioner
Aidan Heffernan has specialised in Insolvency matters for the past 25 years. During this period he has gained considerable expertise in Examinerships, Receiverships, High Court Liquidations, Creditor’s Voluntary and Member’s Voluntary Liquidations. As well as being a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, Aidan has held an Insolvency Licence for both UK and Norther Ireland work for 20 years, and is on the Irish Revenue panel of Court appoved liquidators. Presently he is acting for the Revenue in a number of large cases.
Patrick Hitchmough
ACIS
Patrick Hitchmough is an experienced Insolvency Specialist with over 25 years practical experience with High Court Liquidations, Creditors Voluntary Liquidations and dealing with ODCE. Patrick is also an experienced Chartered Secretary with over 30 years experience of Auditing, Accounting, Company Secretarial and Taxation matters. Patrick has also acted as Forensic Accountant in personal injury claims, loss of earnings and commercial disputes before the Courts.
Helen O'Neill
FCPA
Helen is an experienced Certified Public Accountant with over 20 years’ experience of Auditing and Forensic Accounting. Helen specialises in Forensics and Taxation matters, particularly in the complex areas of personal taxation matters, VAT and Corporation Tax.
Robert Heffernan
CPA
Robert is an experienced Certified Public Accountant with over 10 years’ experience of Statutory Auditing and Financial Reporting, specialising in small and medium sized Audit companies and general compliance for clients operating in various industries and sectors.
Frank Bosak
FCCA
Frank is a Certified Chartered Accountant and specialises in Financial Reporting and Audit.
Frank also has a Management Accountancy background and experience in financial performance monitoring and evaluation and communicating financial data to non-financial managers.
Frank advises on the implementation of Financial and Accountancy systems and Internal Controls for clients operating in various industries and sectors.
Alec Sheehan
ACCA
Alec joined the team in 2018 and is a Part Qualified Certified Chartered Accountant. Alec has expertise in all areas of payroll, bookkeeping and Financial Reporting.
Ciarán Horgan
CPA
Ciarán joined the team in 2021 and is a Part Qualified Certified Public Accountant. Ciarán has experience in accounts preparation for Partnerships, Sole Traders and Unaudited Limited Companies
Ciaran has had exposure within the Construction, Engineering, Pharmaceutical sectors and has strong familial connections within these Industries.
